Community Schools

We know that education is important to determining future achievement and that children who graduate from high school tend to be more successful than those who drop out.

But there are a lot of factors that are unrelated to academics that can inhibit a child’s ability to do well. This is why we focus on bringing community services into the schools where they can do the most good for families and students.

Our Community School Partnerships improve students’ academic achievement while improving the health and well being of children and their families.

The schools, located in some of the Bay Area’s toughest neighborhoods, become community hubs that provide a range of services for the whole community from health care to food pantries, ensuring that families’ basic needs are covered so that students can come to school prepared to learn.
