Resolution 2012: Build Stronger Community

2012 has arrived, and maybe some of the economic stats are giving you the blues. Poverty numbers are growing, unemployment is up, and the cost of living is rising.

But we’ve got some good news: thousands of people are standing up and joining United Way of the Bay Area’s movement to cut poverty and working to turn around our community.

Want to get inspired? Take a peek at our short video to see how together, we’re making a difference.

In 2011, 8,000 people volunteered with United Way to complete more than 600 projects. 60,000 people donated toward United Way’s poverty-cutting programs. Together, we helped 250,000 Bay Area residents last year, and we hope to do even more in 2012 to address growing needs.

But any movement is only as strong as the people driving it. If you’re reading this, we know you are one of those people who doesn’t like to sit on the sidelines. To help United Way move closer to our goal of cutting Bay Area poverty in half by 2020, we need as many people as possible to get involved.

So join us and make it your 2012 resolution to build stronger community!
