On Saturday, May 8th, letter carriers in more than 10,000 communities will collect food items and deliver them to local food banks to help some of the millions of Americans, including an estimated 16.7 million children, who face hunger every day.
Since 1993, families have donated nearly 1 billion pounds of food to Stamp Out Hunger. What can you do to help?
- Place non-perishable food products in a bag.
- Leave at your mailbox on Saturday May 8.
- Your letter carrier will pick up and deliver to local food banks or pantries.
If you or someone you know is hungry, call 2-1-1 to find one of the many food assistance programs that serve the Bay Area. Call specialists are available 24 hours a day, and can also help callers access other programs that offer low-income families discounts on automobile insurance, utility bills, phone service and public transportation.
