"MyFreeTaxes" Van Tours the Bay Area

Today, the Walmart Foundation announced the arrival of the MyFreeTaxes.com national tour in the Bay Area.   The announcement was made at the East Bay Asian Local Development Corporation in Oakland, which is a long-time partner of Earn It! Keep It! Save It!, the Bay Area’s largest free-tax program,  lead by United Way. 

From today through March 6th the MyFreeTaxes.com van will visit five Bay Area cities, where people who earned less than $58,000 in 2009 can visit the van and file their taxes free of charge.  For more information visit www.myfreetaxes.com/tour

Bay Area residents who miss the MyFreeTaxes.com van, can get free tax assistance through April 15 at one of more than 200 free tax sites operated by Earn It! Keep It! Save It!  The program provides free tax filing assistance to households that earned less than $52,000 in 2009.  To locate a free tax site, call 2-1-1 or visit www.earnitkeepitsaveit.org.
