Love books? Love kids? Do you have a few hours to give that can change a child’s success later in life?
If you’re available Saturday 9/12, please come and help us sort Raising A Reader materials for our awesome kids at the SF Food Bank (in Potrero Hill).
You’ll be helping Raising A Reader San Francisco which helps more than 5,000 of our toughest-to-reach young children and their families.
Raising A Reader gives every child an equal opportunity at success later in life by promoting daily book reading between parents and their young children. This take-home book bag program reaches the toughest, most critical population: low income families where parents are poor readers or do not speak English well. It targets the first five years of life, a vital development window when 90% of brain growth occurs.
And they need your help!
We’ll be at the Food Bank with piles of kids’ books from 10am – 2pm. There will be excellent treats for your excellent volunteering. It’s easy work, we just need more hands.
Come for 2o minutes or to stay for all 4 hours—we appreciate any amount of time you can spare.
To take advantage of this opportunity, shoot us an email.
We have four hours to sort it all, and we need help!
Hope to see you there!
