1995-2001
This study explores trends in child care staffing between
1995 and 2001 in Alameda County, during a period of unparalleled
economic growth in the California Bay Area. Study subjects
include 140 programs representing 313 sites and over 3,000
child care center teaching and administrative staff. Download

A Profile
of the San Mateo County Child Care Workforce
This study describes 104 center-based programs representing
157 sites and over 1,000 child care teaching and administrative
staff. Family child care providers were surveyed separately
to determine their educational and demographic characteristics,
earnings, expenses, and working conditions.

Center for the Child Care Workforce, 2002
This study describes findings about state-funded prekindergarten
staffing in five states: California, Georgia, Illinois,
New York and Texas. California's prekindergarten program,
along with others included in the study, have grown significantly
over the last five years. Special attention is paid to the
differences between prekindergarten staff and compensation
in program operating in public schools and those in community-based
programs.
