Volunteer Programs
United Way of the Bay Area Volunteer Programs
Last year more than 8000 employees volunteered at community organizations across the Bay Area working on many important projects at area nonprofits. Many of these nonprofits wouldn’t be able to complete these essential projects without volunteer support.
United Way also offers year round customized volunteer opportunities to our corporate partners. These opportunities can be an afternoon project with a United Way SparkPoint Center or a ongoing opportunity such as mentoring youth once a month.

8,000 employee volunteers to more than 100 nonprofits.

Employees bring in used professional clothing to your office to provide at-risk youth with appropriate attire for interviews, summer jobs and internships. Pre-selected youth are participants of United Way’s MatchBridge program.
Teams of employees pick up paint brushes and hammers to renovate local schools and after-school programs.
Many low-income families cannot afford to purchase all the supplies their children need to start the school year. Help ensure all children from United Way’s Community school partnerships enter school prepared to succeed.
