ARE YOU UP TO THE CHALLENGE?
Participating law firms engage in friendly competition, aiming to achieve the greatest philanthropic impact, as measured by monetary donations, volunteerism, and dedication to United Way programs and the community.
Awards are given based on firm size:
- Baby Koko (1-49 attorneys)
- Little Koko (50-100 attorneys)
- Big Koko (100+ attorneys)
Firms are evaluated by the Koko Cabinet, using the following quantitative and qualitative categories:
- Per-capita dollars raised
- Employee participation
- Employee giving levels
- Volunteerism
- Amount raised to support United Way programs via corporate gift, special events and fundraisers
- Creativity of special events and fundraisers
- Partnerships, sponsorships & co-branding with United Way
The Challenge kicks off in September and concludes on November 1. However, fundraising, volunteerism, and other activities conducted in partnership with United Way that occur after last year’s Koko deadline (November 1, 2010) count toward the 2011 Challenge.
