MatchBridge: Jobs for Youth
The mission of MatchBridge is to reduce poverty by providing urban youth with greater access to jobs. Since 2005, MatchBridge has contributed to the development of San Francisco’s workforce by connecting roughly 1,200 young adults ages 16-24 to entry-level jobs, professional development opportunities, career counseling, and internships.
Youth applicants are screened for job readiness. Many are placed immediately while some are referred to partner organizations for training. MatchBridge follows up to ensure participants are successful. Positive early work experiences give youth solid footing on a career ladder so they will be financially secure as adults, breaking the cycle of poverty.
